Stevenage FC have secured the permanent signing of Mathaeus Roberts, a former Arsenal youth midfielder, following an impressive trial spell with the League One side.
The 20-year-old has been rewarded with a permanent contract of undisclosed length after catching the eye during pre-season, where he netted five goals in four friendly matches.
Roberts began his career in the Arsenal youth system, representing the Gunners at under-18 level before moving to Ipswich Town, where he featured for their under-21 side. His performances have now earned him a chance to step into senior football with Stevenage.
He becomes the seventh addition to manager Alex Revell’s squad this summer, as the club continues to strengthen ahead of the 2025–26 League One campaign.
Stevenage will kick off their season with an away trip to Blackpool on Saturday, 2 August.
