Ghanaian international winger Samuel Owusu has completed a move to Israeli second-tier side Maccabi Petah Tikva, as the club looks to strengthen its squad for a swift return to the Israeli Premier League.
The 29-year-old joins from Serbian SuperLiga outfit OFK Beograd, where he impressed during the 2024/25 campaign with 23 league appearances, three goals, and two assists. His signing is seen as a key step in Maccabi Petah Tikva’s ambition to bounce back to the top flight.
Owusu brings with him a wealth of experience and flair. Capped 17 times for Ghana, the Black Stars winger is known for his blistering pace, close control, and direct attacking style, qualities that are expected to add firepower and creativity to Petah Tikva’s frontline.
After starting his professional journey with Vision FC in Ghana, Owusu embarked on a European career in 2014. He has since played across Serbia, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, with stints at clubs such as Al-Fayha and Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, as well as Gençlerbirliği in Turkey’s top tier.
With his extensive international and club experience, Owusu is anticipated to play a pivotal role in Petah Tikva’s campaign to secure promotion and re-establish themselves in Israel’s top division.
