Three-quarters of the FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final lineup has been confirmed, setting the stage for a thrilling finish to the tournament as teams begin charting their course to the final.

Chelsea booked their spot in the last eight with a dramatic 4-1 extra-time victory over Benfica on 28 June. The match, which was delayed for two hours due to adverse weather, saw the Blues pull away after regulation time to secure the win.

Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal produced one of the shocks of the competition, edging out Premier League winners Manchester City 4-3 in a gripping extra-time thriller. Their reward is a quarter-final clash with Brazilian side Fluminense, who themselves pulled off a surprise 2-0 victory over Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, two European heavyweights are set to collide, as UEFA Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain will face Bayern Munich in what promises to be a blockbuster quarter-final tie. PSG breezed past Inter Miami with a commanding 4-0 win, while Bayern overcame Flamengo 4-2 in a high-scoring encounter.

With six of the eight quarter-final slots now confirmed, two round-of-16 matches remain:

  • 1 July: Real Madrid vs Juventus (20:00 BST)

  • 2 July: Borussia Dortmund vs Monterrey (02:00 BST)

Here is the full list of results from the round of 16 so far:

  • 28 June: Palmeiras 1–0 Botafogo (AET)

  • 28 June: Benfica 1–4 Chelsea (AET)

  • 29 June: PSG 4–0 Inter Miami

  • 29 June: Flamengo 2–4 Bayern Munich

  • 30 June: Inter Milan 0–2 Fluminense

  • 1 July: Manchester City 3–4 Al-Hilal (AET)

With a mix of upsets and elite matchups, the tournament is heating up as the remaining clubs vie for global supremacy. Football fans can expect high drama as the quarter-finals get underway.
