Burnley have re-signed Danish winger Jacob Bruun Larsen from Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart for an undisclosed fee, with the 26-year-old putting pen to paper on a four-year contract at Turf Moor.
Bruun Larsen returns to Lancashire following a successful loan spell during the 2023–24 Premier League campaign, where he made 32 league appearances and scored six goals for the Clarets.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Denmark international expressed his delight at making the move permanent:
“I’m so happy to be back, to be honest. It’s a good feeling.
It was a very easy decision for me, once I knew the club were interested, I just knew I was ready to come back and sign here permanently.
I can’t wait to run out that tunnel again at Turf Moor in a few weeks and see all the fans again.”
Bruun Larsen began his professional career at German giants Borussia Dortmund, where he made his senior debut in 2016. He went on to play for Hoffenheim and also had a stint on loan at Belgian club Anderlecht before joining Stuttgart.
Capped seven times by Denmark at senior level, Bruun Larsen has scored once for his country and is seen as a key part of Burnley’s attacking rebuild as they prepare for life in the Championship following their relegation.
The winger’s return is viewed as a boost for manager Vincent Kompany, who is looking to bring stability and firepower to the squad in a bid for immediate promotion.
