Bradford City have secured the services of promising midfielder Jenson Metcalfe from Everton for an undisclosed fee. The 20-year-old has penned a three-year contract with the Bantams, marking a significant step in his professional development.
Metcalfe arrives at Valley Parade after an impressive loan spell with Chesterfield during the 2024/25 season. He made 30 appearances in League Two, playing a key role in helping the Spireites reach the play-offs, and gaining valuable first-team experience in the process.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Metcalfe expressed his excitement about the move and his long-term commitment to the club.
“I am so happy to join the club and I am especially looking forward to spending at least three years here, hopefully.”
Bradford City manager Graham Alexander was equally enthusiastic, praising the young midfielder’s potential and fit within the team’s style of play.
“Jenson is a player with big potential and will bring extra competition to our midfield,” Alexander said. “His attributes in and out of possession suit our game very well, so we look forward to seeing him integrate into life at Bradford City.”
With the signing of Metcalfe, the Bantams continue to build a competitive squad as they aim for promotion, and the young midfielder is expected to play a key role in the club’s ambitions moving forward.
