Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has expressed his joy at staying with AFC Bournemouth, describing the Premier League side as his “safe place” after extending his contract through to 2030.
Following a period of speculation surrounding his future, with interest from several top clubs including reigning champions Liverpool, Semenyo has reaffirmed his commitment to the Cherries, choosing stability and belonging over uncertainty.
“If you go somewhere, you would want to feel wanted, and I didn’t feel that,” Semenyo told Sky Sports. “So this is my safe place, I felt wanted, and it is good to be back. It feels great.”
The 2025/26 Premier League season is fast approaching, with Bournemouth set to open their campaign against Liverpool in what promises to be a high-profile clash. Semenyo’s decision to stay comes as a significant boost for the club as they aim to build on last season’s progress.
Currently, the Cherries are deep into their pre-season preparations, with Semenyo playing a key role as the squad fine-tunes tactics and fitness levels ahead of the big kickoff in August.
The Ghanaian international’s long-term deal underscores both his value to Bournemouth and the club’s ambition to retain top talent amid growing competition across the league.
