AC Milan have completed the signing of Ecuador international Pervis Estupiñán from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £17 million, including add-ons. The 27-year-old left-back has signed a contract that runs until 2030, marking a new chapter in his career with the Italian giants.
Estupiñán has been a consistent performer for Brighton since joining from Villarreal in 2022, making 104 appearances and scoring five goals. He played a key role in the Seagulls’ historic 2022/23 campaign, which saw them qualify for European competition for the first time. He also featured prominently in their Europa League run, which ended in the round of 16 against Roma.
During the 2023/24 season, the Ecuadorian made 34 appearances as Brighton finished eighth in the Premier League. Speaking on his departure, Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler praised Estupiñán’s contributions:
“I have enjoyed working with Pervis and he has made a significant contribution to the club during his time here. He is at the stage of his career when he wants a fresh challenge, and this opportunity to play in Serie A gives him that.”
Estupiñán originally arrived in England in 2016 when he signed for Watford, though he never made a senior appearance for the Hornets. It was in Spain, particularly with Villarreal, where he rose to prominence. He was part of the squad that famously beat Manchester United in the 2021 Europa League final, cementing his status as a dependable left-back.
Now with AC Milan, Estupiñán brings European experience, defensive solidity, and attacking threat down the left flank as the Rossoneri look to strengthen their title challenge in Serie A and deepen their impact in continental competitions.
