Ghanaian midfielder Francis Abu has officially completed a move to Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse, signing a four-year contract with the French club. The 24-year-old joins from Belgian Pro League side Cercle Brugge, where he made 100 appearances, scored three goals, and provided seven assists.
Toulouse reportedly secured Abu’s signature with a €2.5 million bid, fending off interest from several European clubs, including English side Burnley and Serie A duo Torino and Genoa.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Abu shared his excitement about the new chapter in his career:
“I am very happy to be here. I can’t wait to start this new challenge and join this beautiful family. I’m also looking forward to discovering the Pink City and meeting all the incredible supporters of the club. I’m ready for the challenge ahead.”
The dynamic midfielder, who made his debut for the Ghana national team in 2024, has since earned six caps for the Black Stars. His move to Toulouse comes after successfully completing a medical examination in France.
With this transfer, Abu becomes the first Ghanaian to sign for Toulouse, adding a historic layer to his promising journey in European football.
