Ghanaian striker Jonathan Sowah has completed a move to Tanzanian Premier League powerhouse Simba SC, signing a two-year contract as the club eyes a return to domestic dominance and continental glory.

The 26-year-old forward joins Simba after a brief but impactful stint with fellow Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars, whom he joined in January 2025 from Libyan club Al Nasr. During his time at Singida, Sowah played a pivotal role in the team’s strong finish to the 2024/25 campaign, helping them secure an impressive fourth place in the league standings.

Sowah, a former standout at Ghanaian champions Medeama SC, brings with him valuable experience and versatility, having featured in top-flight football across Ghana, Libya, and now Tanzania. His familiarity with the Tanzanian league is expected to ease his integration into the Simba setup, as the club aims to end a four-year wait for the league title.

Simba SC narrowly missed out on the 2024/25 championship, finishing just four points behind fierce rivals and league winners Yanga SC. The signing of Sowah is viewed as a strategic reinforcement in the club’s pursuit of reclaiming domestic supremacy.

Beyond the league, Sowah’s arrival comes at a crucial time, with Simba SC preparing to compete in the CAF Champions League next season. The high-profile continental competition will provide the Ghanaian forward with a major platform to showcase his talents and bolster Simba’s attacking strength on the African stage.

Sowah’s acquisition underscores Simba’s ambition to return to the summit of Tanzanian and African football, with fans hopeful that the Ghanaian striker will bring goals, experience, and renewed energy to the squad.
