Osman expressed his excitement after joining the French Ligue 1 side, saying, “Happy to be here. Can’t wait to get started. See you soon”. He’ll wear the number 23 jersey and has the potential to make a significant impact for Auxerre this season.
Osman joins the French outfit on a loan deal worth €16 million, with an option to buy. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has previously played for Feyenoord Rotterdam on loan from Brighton, where he made 32 appearances, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
Auxerre, who finished 11th in Ligue 1 last season, view Osman as a key addition to bolster their attack as they aim to establish themselves in the top flight.
He joins an Auxerre squad featuring fellow Ghanaians Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu, which should help the young forward adapt quickly.
