Burnley have officially signed experienced England right-back Kyle Walker from Manchester City in a deal worth up to £5 million.

The 35-year-old defender underwent a medical on Friday and has signed a two-year contract with the Clarets. He reunites with Burnley head coach Scott Parker, a former teammate from their time together at Tottenham Hotspur.

“I’m delighted to be here,” Walker told the club’s website. “I can’t wait to come in and add my experience and quality to what looks an exciting squad. When I spoke to Scott and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at. He’s done an amazing job here, guiding the club back to the Premier League.”

Walker began last season at Manchester City, making 15 appearances before moving on loan to AC Milan in January. Although he featured for the Italian side, they opted not to make his move permanent.

During his illustrious seven-year spell at Manchester City, after joining from Tottenham in 2017 for an initial £45 million, Walker made 319 appearances and won 17 major honours, including the historic Treble in 2023.

A product of Sheffield United’s youth academy, Walker brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Burnley as they prepare for life back in the Premier League following their promotion last season after a brief relegation in 2024.

The club announced Walker’s arrival in style, sharing a video on X (formerly Twitter) inspired by Lionel Richie’s classic music video for “Hello.”

Walker becomes Burnley’s fifth signing of the summer window, joining Axel Tuanzebe, Quilindschy Hartman, Max Weiss, and Loum Tchaouna at Turf Moor.
