Nottingham Forest defender Neco Williams has signed a new four-year contract that will keep him at the City Ground until the summer of 2029.
The 24-year-old Wales international initially joined Forest from Liverpool in July 2022 in a £17 million transfer. Since then, he has become a key figure in the team, making 107 appearances across all competitions.
Williams’ previous contract was set to expire in 2026, but his new deal extends his stay by an additional three years, rewarding his consistent performances and contribution to the club’s recent success.
The 2024/25 season saw Forest secure a historic seventh-place finish in the Premier League, earning them a spot in European competition for the first time since the 1994/95 season, a campaign in which they finished third.
Reflecting on his new contract, Williams expressed his pride and excitement for the club’s future:
“This club has come so far in recent years, and I am proud to be on the journey,” he said. “Everyone knows how ambitious our owner, Evangelos Marinakis, is, and I’m grateful to him for showing belief in me and in the club.”
“The future is exciting. It’s a privilege to be playing for a football club with fans like the Forest fans. We’re all looking forward to those European nights at the City Ground, and as a team, we want to create more memories for everyone connected to Forest.”
The new deal marks another step forward in Forest’s long-term vision under the leadership of Marinakis, as the club continues to solidify its place among the Premier League’s rising contenders.
