Ghanaian international Elisha Owusu has described playing in the FIFA World Cup as the ultimate ambition for any professional footballer, highlighting the tournament’s significance in a player’s career.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming international fixtures, Owusu said representing his country on football’s biggest stage remains the pinnacle of achievement for players worldwide.

“The World Cup is every footballer’s dream,” Owusu stated. “It’s where legends are made, and it’s a platform where you can showcase your talent to the whole world. Every young player grows up imagining that moment, and it’s what motivates us to keep working hard.”

Owusu, who has been an integral part of the Black Stars midfield, emphasized that qualifying for the tournament requires dedication, teamwork, and resilience, both at the club and national team levels.

“It’s not just about individual talent; it’s about discipline, preparation, and unity as a team,” he explained. “We need to ensure we are ready mentally, physically, and tactically to compete at that level.”

The midfielder also reflected on the role the World Cup plays in inspiring the next generation of footballers in Ghana. “When kids see our national team on the global stage, it gives them hope and ambition. They realize that with hard work, they too can reach that level.”

Owusu urged fans and stakeholders to continue supporting Ghanaian football, stressing that encouragement and investment in the sport are essential for nurturing talent capable of competing on the world stage.

“As players, we are committed to giving our best,” he concluded. “But the support from fans, coaches, and the football community fuels our journey towards the World Cup and beyond.”

With Ghana aiming to make a mark in international competitions, Owusu’s words underscore both the prestige of the World Cup and the drive required to achieve footballing excellence at the highest level.
