Ghana’s Afrobeats sensation AD DJ has reached a major milestone in his career following his official appointment as the Resident DJ for Season 5 of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), marking a significant moment for Ghanaian music on the continental stage.

Widely regarded as one of the most influential DJs in Ghana’s vibrant music scene, AD DJ’s selection reflects his growing impact beyond national borders and highlights the increasing integration of African music and culture into elite global sporting platforms.

The Basketball Africa League, a joint initiative between the NBA and FIBA, stands as Africa’s premier men’s professional basketball competition. Beyond the on-court action, the league has built a reputation for blending high-level basketball with rich cultural expression, with music playing a central role in shaping the game-day experience.

Season 5 of the BAL tipped off on April 5, 2025, with opening fixtures in Morocco, and will culminate with the playoffs and finals in South Africa. Throughout the season, AD DJ will be at the heart of the league’s entertainment experience, curating soundtracks, energising arenas, and delivering electrifying performances that resonate with fans across the continent and beyond.

Renowned for his high-energy sets, technical mastery, and versatility, AD DJ has enjoyed a steady rise within Ghana’s music industry. His journey has seen him dominate top club residencies, command major festival stages, and build a loyal following through his unique ability to fuse Afrobeats, Amapiano, Hip-hop, and global rhythms into seamless performances.

His appointment as BAL Resident DJ not only elevates his personal brand but also reinforces the growing global demand for African sounds and creative excellence. With the Basketball Africa League’s expanding international reach, AD DJ now has a powerful platform to showcase Ghanaian music to a diverse global audience.

As the season unfolds and the stakes rise on the court, AD DJ’s beats will provide the rhythm that fuels the atmosphere, uniting basketball and music in celebration of African excellence. With the spotlight firmly on him, AD DJ is set to bring the soul of Ghanaian Afrobeats to the heartbeat of African basketball.
